We invite you to learn about this marvellous breed and more importantly, get to know our dogs. Having undergone recuperation over the last three to four decades we enter another important epoch in which there is a requirement for both increased cooperation and for a strategy to ensure the breed's preservation. Demand for examples has perhaps compromised the integrity of the breed in some aspects, certainly there are some dogs to be found which lay claim to be Alanos Españoles but are nothing other than country dogs which undertake similar tasks to the Alano. In other situations, while there is an inherent need to increase the population, there are tendencies which need to be arrested and a need for education and discussion to be propagated. Today there exist enough true examples, sympathetic descendents of those dogs of antiquity to ensure that the breed is secure and has a future ensured by good management through responsible breeding and collaboration. |
